  • DO YOU LIKE PEOPLE AND MAKING NEW FRIENDS?

 

If you answered YES to any of the questions above, you may have what it takes to be a member of the Newton Cheer Explosion Competition Cheerleading Team**!   All children in grades 3 to 8 (as of Fall 2005) are eligible to participate.  We will be holding try-out practices Saturday May 14th and would love to meet you.

 

We were fortunate to have two squads this past season and would like to continue the growth and success of the program.  Prior experience is not necessary to try-out and not needed to earn a place on the squad.  Grades 7th  & 8th have limited space available.  Any new members entering 7th & 8th grade are required to have a back handspring.  


Competition cheerleading teaches sportsmanship, team building and increases individual self confidence at the highest levels.  Our 2004-2005 teams enjoyed very successful seasons.  The Super and Midget squads earned the opportunity to compete this March at the Cheer LTD, CANAM National Competition in Myrtle Beach, SC.  We are very proud of their accomplishments and look forward to an even brighter and better 2005-2006 season!  We hope you will have the opportunity to be with us next year.

 

Tryouts will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 14th, 2005.   We will be taking a break at 11:30, so feel free to bring your lunch or snack.  For more information on the competition squad or try-outs, or to contact any member of the Cheerleading Board, please check out the NJAL web page – njal.org – and follow the link for cheerleading.  You can email one of the Cheerleading Board members or contact Ronda Senior, Cheerleading Director at 908-852-4552 (no calls after 8:00 p.m. please!).
